This year’s show will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at Louisville Memorial Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 from any NPHC member or online. They will be $20 at the door.

“The NPHC Homecoming Step Show is one of the premier cultural events held by a student organization at the University of Louisville. The continued support of the show by friends, family and the UofL community assists the National Pan-Hellenic Council and its member organizations in providing programs on campus and in the community,” said Jeffrey Cross, NPHC adviser.

Competition winners get yearlong bragging rights and a cash prize that goes to their chapter. It’s a reward for the hours that sororities and fraternities spend each week practicing their step routines. Work actually begins during the summer as groups develop a theme and create a choreographed step routine around it.

Last year, Alpha Phi Alpha’s “Night at the Museum” themed show won first place for fraternities. For the sororities, Delta Sigma Theta’s “Handling Business for Centennial” theme took the crown.
