The program is free and open to UofL faculty, staff and students and their families.

The Mardi Gras party will include two showings of the New Orleans-based Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog,” as well as stations where children will be invited to make their own Mardi Gras masks and necklaces, as well as other activities. Kids and parents will also get to sample king cake.

The movie will be shown at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m. in the planetarium dome. Kids activities will run from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the center.

Reservations are required for all guests and should be made no later than Feb. 17 at 2015uoflmardigras.eventbrite.com. Registrants will select which screening time to attend during registration.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Communications and Marketing and Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium.
