The free talk begins at 7 p.m. and will be accompanied by a visual tour and is part of a family-friendly 2013 National Astronomy Day celebration at the University of Louisville’s Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium. Tretter is the planetarium’s director.

Guests who stay for the 8 p.m. Skies Over Louisville show in the dome and star gazing at 9 p.m. in the courtyard, weather permitting, will pay $5 (free for planetarium members).

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a Celestron telescope, valued at $149, to be given away the following week. Other prizes will be given away during the celebration.
