The seventh Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Conference will be held Feb. 8 at UofL.

The University of Louisville Women’s Center and Women4Women Student Board are raising awareness about human trafficking in Kentucky through a February conference aimed at talking about the issue and encouraging action to prevent it.

The seventh annual Human Trafficking Awareness Conference will be 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Student Activities Center’s multipurpose room.

The conference agenda includes:

  • “Human Trafficking 101,” a training session led by Amy Leenerts of Free2Hope to educate attendees on ways to prevent human trafficking.
  • Angela Renfro, creator of The Kristy Love Foundation and a survivor of trafficking, to speak.
  • A resource fair that will feature representatives from various community and campus organizations that provide resources for victims of human trafficking. Conference attendees will also learn ways they can get involved in ending human trafficking.
