The movie, Finding Nemo, has been rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m. It will begin at sunset, or shortly after 8 p.m.
The August movie was postponed after local weather forecasts predicted a temperature of at least 100 degrees, with a heat index between 110 and 115 degrees.
We regret having to postpone the event, but we did not want to expose our community, and particularly small children, to the extreme temperatures that have been predicted, said John Drees, who coordinates the Cards Under the Stars series.
The Sept. 10 program will feature the movie, as well as appearances by a local magician and musical entertainment. As with previous movies, inflatable rides and other children’s activities also will be part of the event. Activities will be on the Natural Science lawn next to Grawemeyer Hall.
Cards Under the Stars will be part of Family Weekend, during which current students’ families are encouraged to visit campus.
