A Conversation with Lilly Ledbetter will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Ekstrom Library’s Chao Auditorium. UofL’s College of Arts and Sciences is sponsoring the event.

Ledbetter is expected to talk about her experiences championing gender pay equity. The Alabama woman was the plaintiff in an employment discrimination case against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. that went before the U.S. Supreme Court. She spoke during the 2008 Democratic National Convention on Women’s Equality Day. President Barack Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009 into law not long after his inauguration.

Ledbetter is speaking at UofL in conjunction with her keynote talk at the Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission’s 15th annual Race and Relations Conference.
