    DID YOU KNOW?

Belknap Campus resides on land the city of Louisville had once set aside as a cemetery, but instead sold to a school for wayward youths. Gardiner Hall, built in 1872, is one of several buildings on Belknap that was constructed by the Industrial School of  Reform.

    Today

1.) Deadline today to nominate outstanding staff performers

Recipients receive plaques, a $1,000 cash award and a letter of appreciation for their personnel files. President James Ramsey also hosts a reception in their honor.

2.) Green Tip: Help with lawn removal today

    Sept. 26, 2 to 4 p.m., outside Davidson Hall

As part of the national Green Apple Day of Service, UofL students, faculty and staff will help replace some of our unsustainable, unused, fossil-fueled lawn with a lower-maintenance, native wildflower garden that will beautify campus and support pollinators. Lawns may look nice to some, but they are ecologically dead and require lots of chemicals, water, labor and gas to maintain. Join us for the fun! Organized by UofL’s Sustainability Council and the RSO GRASS.
