    DID YOU KNOW?

UofL has a private rideshare network for faculty and staff. Zimride is an easy way to set up carpools using social networks that help the UofL community find and offer rides to common destinations. Ridesharing saves both you and UofL money while cutting pollution by reducing the number of cars on campus. Take money out of your gas tank and give yourself a raise! Great minds ride together at zimride.com/Louisville.

We’ve Got You Covered! Here’s how you can put money back in your pocket. Discuss in-network services with your doctor. It’s important that your in-network doctor always refers you to in-network providers should you be in need of other medical services, like laboratory work or a referral to a specialist.  If you have questions or need assistance locating an in-network provider, or you do not have online capability, call the phone number located on the back of your member ID card for assistance.  This year’s Open Enrollment is Oct. 17-31. Be watching for more helpful benefit tips!

7.) Free personal safety alarms available for faculty, staff

UofL is providing a little more security for faculty and staff who would like extra protection while walking at night. Provost Shirley Willihnganz has purchased 150 personal safety alarms each for the Belknap and HSC campuses. Alarms also will be made available on Shelby Campus. The alarms are similar to a key fob and can be held or worn around the neck on a lanyard. By pulling a pin, the wearer activates a piercing alarm to discourage would-be attackers.  Alarms can be picked up at the Office of Communications and Marketing on either campus. Call 852-6171 (Belknap or Shelby) or 852-2647 (HSC) for more information or to set up a time for pick-up.
