Street closure alert for Tuesday
On Tuesday, November 15, 3rd Street will be closed from Eastern Parkway to Winkler Avenue between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The street closure is needed to allow repairs on the railroad. TARC Route #94 will detour during this time. The only affected bus stop location will be on 3rd Street just south of Eastern Parkway, directly across from Reynolds Lofts.

Grand Opening in the Treehouse
November 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., SAC W309 and W309H
Health Promotion and PEACC invite you to stop by their new treehouse space in the SAC on November 15. A Gratitude Ceremony will be held from 1-1:30 p.m. You can preview programs available to students, enjoy refreshments and a photo booth, and sample services provided by PEACC and Health Promotion.

UofL Cares Campaign continues

The 2016 UofL Cares Campaign would like to invite you to have lunch at 4th Street Live on Wednesdays during the month of November. Participating restaurants will donate 20 percent of lunch and dinner food sales to our partnering charities. 10th Annual Anne Braden Memorial Lecture

For the 10th annual Anne Braden Memorial Lecture, Angela Davis will deliver the lecture, “Freedom Is a Constant Struggle.” For several decades, Davis has been among the prominent scholar-activists fighting for racial, gender, and economic justice. People will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a book signing following the lecture.

Beer with a Scientist: ‘Can Species Conservation & Urban Development Co-exist?’

At the next Beer with a Scientist, Dr. Margaret Carreiro will explain how residents in cities and suburbs can protect native species by weaving local nature into the very places where they live and work. She will describe Reconciliation Ecology, a concept in which habitats for wildlife are created within urban and suburban areas.

Paid healthy volunteers needed for caregiver stress study

UofL Caregiver Stress Study is looking for healthy European-American/Caucasian women who are 40 years and older or 35 years and younger who have NOT provided care for an ill friend or family member in the last year. The project involves filling out a questionnaire and providing saliva samples for up to 3 different time points. Each visit takes approximately 1 hour.
