    1.) UofL Day at Holiday World

    9:30 a.m. CST June 15, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, Santa Claus, Ind.

    $42 per person for those 3 years and up. Includes lunch.

    Come out and join us for a day of fun, food and splashin’. UofL Alumni Association arranged a specially priced all-day pass and catered meal for entrance to both Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari parks, with all the perks. Between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. CST, a three-entrée meal in a covered picnic shelter will be available for all guests. We look forward to seeing you there.

    2.) Faculty Staff Golf Outing

    7 a.m. June 14, Nevel Meade Golf Course

    $70 per player

    The 22nd annual Faculty Staff Golf Outing sponsored by Intramural Sports will be held on Friday, June 14, at Nevel Meade Golf Course. Entries are due in the Intramural Office by Friday June 7. A 7 a.m. breakfast, lunch, golf with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and prizes are all included in the entry. Our friends from Sodexo will be on-site smoking a pig and chicken for lunch. You may register as a team or individual. This sells out every year so don’t delay signing up.

    3.) ELC Hosting Conscious Discipline Class

    Noon June 11, MedCenter One

    The Early Learning Campus is hosting a Conscious Discipline Class on Tuesdays June 11 – July 30, noon to 1 p.m. Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive self-regulation program that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline. The sessions will be held in the MedCenter One Building, Human Subjects Protection Program Office, Suite 200, 501 E. Broadway. Class is free. Bring your lunch.

    4.) Register Now For Next Thursday’s Free CME Dinner Program ‘Updates In The Treatment Of Dementia’

    6 p.m. June 6, Buckhead Mountain Grill, 707 West Riverside Dr., Jeffersonville, IN, 47130 (right across the bridge from Louisville)

    Register now for this exciting symposium featuring an update on the diagnosis and treatment of dementia in general, with a special focus on Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Warren Boling and Robert Friedland will highlight the importance of recognizing NPH’s triad of symptoms and also discuss recent technological advancements in shunt treatment. Participants will earn 1.5 hours of CME credit, and dinner will be served. For free registration, RSVP to neuro@louisville.edu.

    5.) ‘Big Data’ & HPCC Systems Workshop

    9 a.m. – 5 p.m. June 6-8, JB 107 Lab Room, JB Speed School of Engineering

    Student rates available

    Big Data workshop, co-organized by UofL and Comrise, is a good addition to your experience skill set and resume. It’s a three-day intensive workshop and attendees will receive a certificate at the end. Please share with students or professionals who may benefit from fast training and certification at a relatively low cost. A 20-percent discount will be applied to those who register by Friday.

    Onbase will be offline for maintenance during IT’s regular preventive maintenance period. Please note that other systems (e.g. Blackboard, email, instant messaging, wireless, PeopleSoft, SharePoint, ULink, data services, etc.) may be taken offline without notice.     7.) AT&T Mobility representatives available in Miller IT Center every Friday in June

    Representatives with AT&T Mobility will be available 11 a.m.-1 p.m. every Friday in June at the kiosk on the lower level of Miller IT Center. Faculty or staff members interested in learning more about AT&T Mobility Services can stop by to ask questions about personal and departmental account options, including discounts available to UofL employees.

    8.) Compliance Awareness: Update on International Shipping and Transactions

    Are you involved in conducting international transactions? Do you ship items internationally? Are these shipments over $2,500 in value?
