    UofL Today with Mark Hebert

    1.) WHAS-TV, Great Day Live

    Mondays at 9:30 a.m. UofL’s Mark Hebert has a story about UofL and talks with Rachel Platt and Terry Meiners about campus events.  Segments can be found on YouTube.  

    • Tuesday, May 31 (Monday is Memorial Day) – Dr. Rahul Bhola treats pediatric glaucoma

    Airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6 p.m. on 93.9 FM The Ville; replayed on Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. Hebert hosts two weekly 30-minute programs focusing on research, programs, successful students and insights from UofL’s faculty experts. This week’s schedule:

    The 33rd Annual Carl A. Warns, Jr. and Edwin R. Render Labor and Employment Law Institute will feature a keynote speech by Professor Lance Liebman from Columbia Law School. The theme for this year’s event is “The Brandeis Legacy and the Evolving American Workplace.”

    6.) Only a few days left to register for Open Walls

    Registration due June 1

    The annual show for faculty and staff is scheduled for June 13 to June 30 in the Photographic Archives gallery at Ekstrom Library. The exhibit is an opportunity for UofL employees who are not professional or exhibited artists to share their work. All media (i.e., painting, photography, woodworking, mixed media, fiber arts, jewelry, crafts) will be accepted. Click here for more information and registration form.

    7.) Scholarship opportunity available for student parents

    Applications are being accepted for the Ann T. Allen Endowed Scholarship for single parents currently enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences. The deadline to apply is June 17 for the fall semester.

    8.) Looking for Lilith Theatre Company presents ‘Getting Out’

    Through May 28, UofL Thrust Theatre, 2314 S. Floyd St., Times vary; $20

    This production is a revival of Louisville playwright Marsha Norman’s first play, “Getting Out,” which premiered at the Actors Theatre in 1977. Norman is in the A&S Hall of Honor.

    9.) Research assistant needed for yoga study

    Tuesdays and Thursdays, July to August. IRB# 16N0104

    A research assistant is needed for a 6-week yoga study to evaluate whether yoga combined with traditional medical treatment among a marginalized adolescent population leads to improved health outcomes. The research assistant will assist with data collection, vital signs, surveys, entering and analyzing data, and a future publication. Yoga sessions will be held twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for an approximately 1.5 to 2 hours each session, July to August 2016.
