Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, who officially started as UofL’s 18th president on Tuesday, received her BA from Andhra University in India, and her PhD from the University of Kansas, where she most recently served as provost and executive vice chancellor.

Forty-four UofL employees were recognized last week during the 2017 and 2018 Celebration of Faculty and Staff. Shannon Fitzgerald, from the Office of Dental Clinical Affairs, received the 2017 Presidential Exemplary Multicultural Engagement Staff Award, while Delaina Amos, from the Speed School, received the 2017 Presidential Exemplary Multicultural Teaching Award. After May 18, accept new ULsecure Wireless Certificate
On Friday, May 18 at approximately 10 p.m., IT will update UofL’s wireless security certificate. After this update, users of the UL secure wireless network will need to accept the new certificate once upon log-in with each of your wireless devices. The procedure taken depends on the operating system or type of device used. Involves: one or two visits to the lab (2 hours total) and 30 minutes of home procedures. Eligibility: women with a regular menstrual cycle. Ineligibility: diagnosed with a psychological disorder, history of psychological or psychiatric treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding in the last three months, had a serious car accident, had a loved one in a serious car accident (potential serious injury or death). PI: Dr. Tamara Newton. Compensation: $25 gift card.

Research subjects needed

Drs. Kathy Carter and John Caruso of The Department of Health and Sport Sciences seek subjects for a study to examine the impact of diet on workouts done on a robotic exoskeleton designed for use during manned space flight. Subjects should be in good health and be able to perform a deep knee bend with 200 pounds in good form. Interested parties may contact Dr. Caruso via email.
