3.) Join GHN’s ‘Feel Like a Million Challenge’
Register: May 16– June 3; Program starts May 30; UofL Employees, retirees and their spouse or QA are eligible to participate
Log on to register and learn how to make tracking your progress easier. Feel Like a Million is a fun 12-week interactive game show-themed online program that supports participants in managing stress and increasing energy by building healthy habits into their daily life. The goal is to accumulate $1 million virtual dollars by logging healthy habits into your daily life. Some activities, like exercise and eating vegetables, allow you to earn virtual dollars every day. The first 200 people to register will be entered into a multi-drawing for a GHN Prize Pack.

5.) Astronomy Day Celebration includes presentation on Pluto
May 15, 1-5 p.m., Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium; Special $5 admission to public shows (members, free)
The Louisville Astronomical Society will have solar telescopes and other activities. Drawing for prizes includes a pair of binoculars and stargazing guide. Free presentation at 4 p.m.: Pluto in Focus. Up close images of Pluto have revealed unexpected findings. This visual journey explores all of the exciting new discoveries. The day ends with an unveiling of our expanded meteorite collection, boasting of over 70 specimens.

6.) 21st Annual RBAA Golf Scramble set for June
June 25, 7 a.m., Crossings Golf Club; $60 per person
The Red Barn Alumni Association (RBAA) 21st Annual RBAA Golf Scramble is June 25 at the Crossings Golf Club in Brooks, Ky. Registration is at 7 a.m. with tee off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. The $60 registration includes 18 holes of championship golf, cart and lunch. For the 7th year, the winning team goes to Pinehurst Course #2 and #4 to compete in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship, October 27-30. Registration deadline June 13.

7.) Crawford Gym Noon Basketball decommissioning ceremony scheduled
May 13, 12-1 p.m., Crawford Gym basketball floor; Free, public
For a half century, Crawford Gym, scheduled for destruction this summer, provided the home for one of University’s brilliant informal traditions. Professors, administrators, coaches and staff played every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 1 p.m. The games spanned the entire period of UofL’s prominence in basketball from the days of Butch Beard and Wes Unseld to the present. Join us as we celebrate the people who participated over the half-century of this UofL tradition.

The 4rd UofL Pathways Women’s Leadership Conference will focus on leadership wayfinding. The program will feature Jennifer Browning Holmes, founder and CEO of Integrating Women Leaders Foundation and Betty Baye, journalist and activist. UofL’s own Kathleen McDaniel Smith, Chief of Staff to the President, will open the day and Elaine Davis, Associate Director of the Ulmer Career Center-College of Business will lead the group through Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator assessments focused on leadership.
