· VIDEO: Selfies in Art History” is an exhibit in UofL’s Bridwell Art Library. Art history major Blake Schreiner wanted to expose the modern “selfie” theme in past artworks. Sarah Carter, the director of the art library, said the idea is to demonstrate how the “selfie” was utilized by artists throughout history to portray their physical state as well as their psychological state. · PHOTOS: ‘Yelp Gets Schooled at UofL,’ a series of monthly events aimed at introducing the public to campus offerings, began Friday at Jazz Fest 2015. View here.

DID YOU KNOW?
Hundreds of students participated in the 18-hour raiseRED dance marathon, the culmination of a year spent raising funds for pediatric cancer research at UofL. When the marathon ended at noon Saturday, students had raised $226,613.12, $26,000 more than this year’s goal. Watch the video here. View photos here.

8.) Office of Vocational Rehabilitation offering workshop

Come learn more about the services and supports available through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). Victoria Reilly will be leading the discussion on OVR from supports while in high school, college, vocational training and additional programing that may be available. Victoria coordinates the Community Based Work Transition Program in 62 public high school districts and consults with all school districts regarding the transition needs of high school students with disabilities.

The University Writing Center, with support from the School of Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies, invites students to apply to participate in this summer’s Dissertation Writing Retreat. Participants will spend each day writing, rewriting and reworking their dissertation chapters and will participate in individualized writing consultations and group workshops.
