Employees invited to provide input on Cards Under the Stars movie series

Cards Under the Stars, UofL’s outdoor family movie series, is returning and this year, organizers are looking for your input on the films. Cards Under the Stars, held three times each summer on the lawn next to Grawemeyer Hall, features family-friendly movies as well as activities for kids, including inflatables and crafts. Help pick this year’s films online. 

Take Back the Night

March 28, 5-8:30 p.m., Red Barn
The annual Take Back the Night event begins with a resource fair at 5 p.m. at the Red Barn. At 6:30 p.m., the Speak Out program begins and, at 7:45 p.m., the campus march will take place throughout campus. The UofL PEACC Center is the primary organizer of Take Back the Night and has concentrated on this year’s theme, “To Rise Again.” Sponsors include The Center for Women and Families, UofL Athletics, UofL LGBT Center, UofL Student Activities Board, UofL School of Public Health Student Government Association and UofL Women’s Center.

IT updating go365 Global Address Book

Information Technology will update the go365 Outlook global address book this weekend to reflect our new status of everyone@louisville.edu. Beginning 8 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2018 and running approximately 12 hours, this change should not impact the flow of university email. Following this update, the global address book available in the Microsoft application (online 365 or desktop client) will feature a user’s display name (Cardfan, Jane) with their indicated name email address (jane.cardfan@louisville.edu) rather than userID. There will be no changes made to personal address books. If you have issues following this update, please contact the IT HelpDesk.

Matthew Hughey presents ‘That Thing Called Race: A modern sociological dilemma’

Jazz-4-Sight: A concert to support the Jazz and Ophthalmology Departments at UofL

Jazz-4-Sight is a fundraising concert to support the Departments of Jazz and Ophthalmology at UofL. Ophthalmology proceeds will fund research on the treatment of retinoblastoma, the leading cause of eye cancer in children. The event begins with a gala and the concert features Doc Severinsen, American jazz trumpeter who led the band for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for 25 years.

Research study recruiting women who have not used hormonal contraceptives in the last three months

Help us understand the experiences of women. Involves one or two visits to the lab (2 hours total) and 30 minutes of home procedures. Eligibility: women with a regular menstrual cycle. Ineligibility: diagnosed with a psychological disorder, history of psychological or psychiatric treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding in the last three months, had a serious car accident, had a loved one in a serious car accident (potential serious injury or death). Carnosine for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Study

The UofL Health Sciences Center is seeking PAD patients between age 50-80 with and without claudication to determine whether Carnosine/Placebo supplementation for 6 months improves walking ability.
