    DID YOU KNOW?

     

    Cork, Ireland is a popular destination for UofL students traveling abroad this summer. A group of 16 students and three faculty members are there this week as part of the International Learning Program; their itinerary includes giving a presentation at Ireland’s National Council for Special Education. Read the group’s blog here. Additionally, a group of 12 students and two faculty members are also in Cork participating in a conference on Human Resource Development.     1.) Sign up today to be a Heart Walk team captain

    Luncheon for captains: June 8, noon, Abell Administration Center 109/110

    Free, RSVP required

    Get ready for the UofL Heart Walk! Team captains and those interested in becoming team captains for the UofL Heart Walk campaign for HSC and Shelby campuses are invited to a free luncheon Monday. Dr. David Dunn, executive vice president for health affairs, will share his personal story and you will find out more about the UofL Heart Walk campaign, which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19. Teams can win prizes such as UofL/UK football and basketball tickets, a Churchill Downs box, t-shirts and more. A Belknap Campus heart walk will be announced soon.

    The next Women Veterans Rock! Day on campus is coming soon, so mark this date on your calendar: June 29. The topic will be Military Benefits & Resources Fair. Location to be announced.

    3.) Sign up for the HSS/SPAD alumni celebrity golf event

    June 22, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oxmoor Country Club

    $100 per player

    Participants can register as individuals, in which case you will be assigned a team, or as a team of three. Teams of three will be assigned a celebrity as their fourth player on the day of the event. Celebrities include former UofL athletes, current and past NFL greats and a host of jockeys, trainers and local golf professionals.
