    Did You Know?

    School of Music alum Jecorey Arthur, a hip hop artist who goes by the name 1200, filmed his latest music video for WFPK’s series “CitySong” at UofL’s Comstock Concert Hall. “I probably spent 10,000 hours in this place…working, rehearsing, performing … It’s crazy to come back to this place and feel all of those moments rush back to me,” he told WFPK.

    1.) Bard’s Cards presents ‘Romeo & Juliet’ with Zhanna Goldentul

    July 10, 7:15 p.m. preshow presentation; 8 p.m., ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ Central Park, 1340 S. 4th St.; free

    Celebrate your love for UofL and Shakespeare at “Romeo and Juliet,” with a pre-show presentation from Theatre Arts professor and resident costume designer Zhanna Goldentul at 7:15 p.m. Wear red, check in on Loyalty Cards mobile app, and pre-register online to be entered into a drawing for a UofL gift basket.

    2.) HSC Walking Tour available

    July 12, 10 a.m., Abell Admin Center 2nd floor lobby; free

    Join us next Tuesday for a walking tour of the Health Sciences Campus. Learn your way around the HSC and sign up for the tour which takes 1.25 hours. Complimentary parking is available for Belknap visitors in the Chestnut Street Garage. Enter off Preston Street to access Belknap parking spots on ground level.     Come on out to the UofL Garden Commons for another workday where we will be planting pumpkins for the fall. We suggest you bring a pair of gloves (there are a few pairs available in the greenhouse) and a water bottle.

    1980 Arthur St.; Free for faculty, staff, retirees and their spouses

    As you approach retirement, your mindset needs to begin to move from accumulation to distribution. That’s what retirement income planning is all about: understanding how much annual income you’ll need during your retirement years and positioning your assets to provide that income. Find out how to set a clear direction on your road to retirement. Presented by Steve Tobin of Commonwealth Credit Union Retirement & Investment Services. Lunch will be provided.
