    From more than 500 nominees, 13 UofL Alumni were honored as Louisville Business First: Forty Under 40 this year

    Professor Ricky Jones’ (Pan-African Studies) radio show, “The Ricky Jones Show,” recently won The Best of Louisville’s “Best Radio Hour” in its first season. The show airs locally Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in Louisville on 93.1 The Beat FM. It can be listened to nationwide on the iHeart Radio app. Season 2 begins in September.

    President Postel to host open forum today, Wednesday

    There will be two open forums hosted by Dr. Postel and are intended for the entire University community. The dates are as follows:
    • July 25, 9 a.m., Belknap campus, Middleton Theater, Strickler hall
    • July 26, 2 p.m., HSC campus, HSC Auditorium

    Forums will be livestreamed online

    Back-to-School dental promotion available

    UofL friendly dental providers are offering free oral health screenings and orthodontic consultations for children and youth to age 21 through the end of October.     Research!Louisville 2017: Call for Abstracts

    September 11-15 Kosair Charities Clinical and Translational Research Building, Health Sciences Center

    Faculty, post-docs, research associates, residents, clinical fellows, research staff, PharmDs, graduate and professional students are invited to submit an abstract on their life science research for a poster presentation at Research!Louisville. Abstract submissions are open August 1-31. Submit an abstract online.

    Do customers need your innovation? Let the UofL-NSF I-Corps Site program help with the discovery and commercialization of STEM innovations. Inventors and researchers partner with entrepreneurial mentors to develop a strategy to get innovative products to market. Awards are up to $2,500 per team. The program is open to all UofL faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Applications are due by August 4, 2017.

    Matthew Biberman, English Department to talk prior to ‘The Merchant of Venice’

    July 26, 7:15 p.m., Central Park, 1340 S. 4th St.; Free
    UofL English professor Matthew Biberman will give a talk prior to the start of the next Bards’ Cards evening, July 26 at Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park in Old Louisville. His talk begins at 7:15 p.m. on the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheatre stage, and the performance of “The Merchant of Venice” begins at 8 p.m.
