    The popular Cards Under the Stars summer movie series began in 2010 with “Toy Story.” Tonight’s showing of “The Lego Movie” marks the third and final film of the 2014 season and the 15th in the series, which started as an initiative by the Great Places to Work Campus Climate Committee and the Office of the President. See you next summer!

    1.) Cards Under the Stars presents ‘The Lego Movie’

    July 25, 6:30 p.m., lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall. The film begins at dusk.

    Free

    The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with children’s inflatables, games and a Lego-themed photo area. The J.B. Speed School of Engineering will host a demonstration table featuring Lego robotics. The school will also give away one 2015 Speed School Lego Camp scholarship to a child in attendance. Bring lawn chairs and/or a blanket and a picnic dinner or purchase food and drinks from Sweet ‘N’ Savory and Jam Pan food trucks. The film will begin at dusk.     2.) Cancer Research Initiative for Students and Post-docs (CRISP) Journal club session

    July 29, noon to 1 p.m., Clinical and Translational Research Building, Room 123

    Free for students and postdocs

    Dr. Subathra Marimuthu from the Siskind lab will present the paper TRAIL-coated leukocytes that kill cancer cells in the circulation from Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 111(3), 930-935 (2014). Pizza will be provided, bring your own drink. Hope to see everyone there!
