    1.) Healthy eating around the globe: cooking demo/tasting

    Free for UofL employees, retirees and their spouses/QAs

    Hop aboard for a trip around the world while learning how to prepare simple and healthy international meals. Are you ready to be inspired to try new recipes, new flavors and ingredients? If so, join us for this Take 20 and walk away from this session being able to mix-and-match elements from different diets to create your own personalized version of healthy eating. Sign up or feel free to walk in.

    2.) Work day and harvest Wednesday

    July 15, noon to 2 p.m., UofL Cultural Center 120 East Brandeis

    Free

    Please join us Wednesday at the Garden Commons next to the Cultural Center. We need volunteers to help us take care of the garden and keep up with weeding, watering if needed, and harvesting . No prior experience needed. Tools and gloves are provided. Volunteers will be able to take home fresh herbs and yummy produce such as mint, lovage, thyme, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, and whatever is ready to harvest .

    3.) Study of family relations for children with ADD/ADHD

    Davidson Hall, Suite 308B

    Paul Rosen, PhD, and The UofL RACER Lab are conducting a study examining family relations for children with ADD/ADHD. Parents and their children between the ages of 7 and 13 years are eligible to participate. Estimated duration of participation is one 3-hour session. Participants will be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card and provided with a free ADHD screening assessment. IRB #15.0478

    4.) Welcome Week 2015 volunteers still needed!

    First Year Initiatives and campus partners will welcome new and returning students to campus with Welcome Week 2015, Aug. 19-23. It’s a team effort to make these events the best they can be and we need your help! If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out the form by THIS FRIDAY, July 17. The form includes details (where and when, length of shift, specific volunteer duties, etc.)
