2.) Save the Date for the Open Walls Faculty/Staff Art Exhibit
The 2016 Open Walls Art Exhibit for faculty and staff will once again be held during the month of June in the Photographic Archives gallery, lower level of Ekstrom Library. Any member of the faculty or staff may enter original artwork. We’ve displayed quilts, baskets, sculptures, paintings, photographs, jewelry and more! We want to see what you can do! 7.) Gear up for the GRE in FREE workshop

8.) University Personnel Sample Shipment Requirements
Do you know if your chemical or biological sample is regulated as hazardous material when you offer it for transport by a private carrier, such as UPS or Yellow Freight? Did you know that YOU (and UofL) could be held responsible for shipments by a non-University employee who ships under a 3rd-party account IF that person isn’t trained and certified for HazMat shipping? Don’t assume that the carrier you choose knows the requirements for YOUR package and has YOUR interests in mind.

Join us in UofL’s organic garden for a series of practical, hands-on workshops about how to manage different aspects of a chemical-free garden and greenhouse! Anyone can work in the garden any time, but we’ll gather together every other Wednesday 2-3pm from Jan. 13 – April 20. No prior experience necessary. Tools & gloves provided. The Garden Commons is open to participation throughout the year from students, staff, faculty and community members.
11.) EpiHour: Infection Control and Prevention: Burden of Infectious Diseases for Hospitals – A Global Perspective

The burden of infectious diseases and multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs) continue to present challenges for hospitals within the U.S. and around the world. Dr. Therese Hughes, an epidemiologist with Baptist Health Lexington, will discuss the epidemiology of healthcare associated infections (HAIs), the growing threat of MDROs, hospital initiatives, and U.S. government national and global efforts to address the problem.
