    W-2 Information

    1.) W-2 information available electronically today

    Employees who chose to receive their W-2 information electronically will receive an email notification on Friday, Jan. 23 that will indicate their 2014 W-2 is available on our W-2 website at http://www.w2express.com/. For those employees who did not elect to receive their 2014 W-2 information electronically, paper W-2s will be printed between January 23 and 26, 2015, and will be mailed within 48 hours.  Employees receiving a paper W-2 will have access to print a duplicate copy after January 31, 2015. Instructions for accessing W-2 Express can be found here.

    2.) The Queen’s Pictures from Henry VIII to Elizabeth II

    Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m., Kentucky Center for the Arts, Bomhard Theater       

    Free for faculty, staff and students who have reserved tickets in advance

    Desmond Shawe-Taylor, surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures, will speak on the British royal collection. Shawe-Taylor is a scholar of 18th Century English portraiture and depiction of Shakespeare’s dramas in art. As surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures, he is responsible for the care and maintenance of the royal collection. The Speed Art Museum is a member of UofL’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships.

    6.) Update: Do you use Respondus Test Generator for Windows?

    Faculty and staff using Respondus Test Generator to load tests from WORD FILES into Blackboard or retrieve tests in Blackboard to WORD FILES, if so you may want to run the Check for update within your software or use the Download from Blackboard > Help > Instructor Help > Respondus. The date on the software is now Jan. 15, 2015. Version 4.05.13.

    8.) Infant Scientists Wanted

    The UofL Infant Cognition Lab (Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences) is conducting several studies on infant face perception. Infants who are between 3 and 8 months old with normal vision and hearing are invited to participate. Participation involves one brief visit to campus.     The DBS Conference will highlight Best timing for DBS surgery in Parkinson’s Disease: The EARLY-STIM study and beyond presented by Dr. Kathrin LaFaver, assistant professor, UoL department of neurology. This is a CME accredited event. MDs and DOs will receive 2 CME credits, and nurses can receive 2.4 CEU credits.

    10.) Book talk: Robert E. Lee’s Civil War and his decision that changed American history

    Journalist and former White House presidential speechwriter Jonathan Horn will speak on his recent biography of Lee and the conflicts inherent in the Confederate general’s sense of duty.
