1.) Signup for Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) by March 2
The SROP provides UofL undergraduate students who would like to know more about graduate-level education at the university with a 10-week research-intensive experience in a department that offers graduate degrees. Mentors will provide students with individualized research projects. All UofL departments with graduate programs will be supported. Students should be, preferably, in their sophomore or junior year of study. The deadline is March 2.

2.) The Trouser Revolution: The Prince of Wales and Beau Brummel

Free for UofL faculty, staff and students
Historian Lynn Renau will discuss the extremes of dandyism in England in the late 1700s and Regency period. The fashion dictates of the future George IV were challenged by George Bryan Beau Brummel who set about simplifying, tightening (literally) and sexualizing aristocratic attire. This is a Jane Austin Society presentation. Locust Grove is a member of A&S’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships.

3.) The Lyman Draper Manuscripts

Filson Historical Society Curator Jim Holmberg will discuss the Draper Collection, which includes the personal papers of Daniel Boone, George Rogers Clark and Simon, among other notable early Americans in the period from the 1790s through the 1820s. Locust Grove is a member of A&S’s Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships.

4.) Open dining at University Club this month

Celebrate the 24th anniversary of the University Club during the month of February. Open dining will be available throughout the month. This is a great opportunity to try out membership. 5.) Louisville Regional Science & Engineering Fair needs judges
LRSEF is in need of professionally qualified volunteer judges in the STEM fields. LRSEF is especially in need of those in energy and transportation, computer sciences, and all areas of engineering. There is a new fair management system called STEM Wizard so you need to register even if you have judged for LRSEF in the past. LRSEF is now located at the Kentucky Science Center and has expanded to serve 52 Kentucky counties. LRSEF is internationally affiliated with the Intel Science and Engineering Fair.
