1.) Theatre Arts presents ‘Sylvia’ this week

Theatre Arts production of “Sylvia” opens Wednesday, Feb. 26. You don’t want to miss this heartwarming comedy about a husband who brings home his new best friend, a dog (played by an actor), to his wife’s dismay. “Whether you have ever hated your job, been in a relationship, or wondered what your pet was thinking – this play has something for everyone,” said director Daniel R.Hill. Show times are Wednesday -Sunday 8 p.m. and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

It is often difficult to have important conversations with employees. Supervisors and managers usually look for the “perfect time” or hope employees will make changes on their own. It is important to address these issues so that employees are performing to the best of their ability. Staff Development is offering a session on having difficult conversations with your employees. Participants will learn more about communication, how to avoid communication breakdowns and best practices.

5.) School of Medicine offering Summer Research Scholars Program
The Summer Research Scholars Program provides a 10-week summer research experience to rising second-year medical students who are interested in research, the research environment of an academic medical center and the activities of academic physicians and scientists. A stipend is provided. Submit a project. Faculty project submission is March 7.
