    ·        Monday, Feb. 22 – Mark visits Great Day Live on WHAS11 to discuss the inventions from the Speed School of Engineering’s capstone event.

    Hebert hosts two weekly 30-minute programs focusing on research, programs, successful students and insights from UofL’s faculty experts.

    ·        Monday, Feb. 22 – Dan Vivian, assistant professor of history, discusses the controversy of the confederate flag. Maxwell Boakye, a neurosurgeon and associate professor in the department of neurosurgery talks about the use of CT scans during brain surgery. Peter Morrin, former director of the Speed Art Museum discusses new art partnerships in the community and at UofL.

    The 2016 Trustees Award nominations must consist of the Nomination Form and letters of support outlining the nominee’s qualifications and contributions to the University community. The award form can be downloaded online.

    Beyond simply decreasing your stress, this evidence-based KORU workshop will help you learn skills to find more satisfaction in your daily life. The course is designed to help you learn mindfulness through the practice of specific skills that calm and focus your mind and through the practice of meditation. If you are feeling pressured and stressed, or are just interested in learning a new skill that can enrich your life, these classes are for you. Beginners and experienced meditators welcome.

    9.) Students encouraged to take new UofL Wellbeing Survey

    Feb. 22 through March 14

    Could more data about students’ wellbeing benefit faculty and staff? If student retention is of interest to you, encourage students that you encounter to complete and submit the new UofL Wellbeing Survey if they receive the e-mail invitation. Starting Monday, Feb. 22 and ending March 14, 5,000 randomly selected students will be invited to take the brief online survey, administered by UofL Office of Institutional Effectiveness in partnership with Health Promotion Wellbeing Central.

    12.) Celebrate Chinese New Year on Meatless Monday

    Special dishes are eaten throughout the Chinese New Year Festival, with certain foods believed to bring good luck for the coming year. Longevity noodles which are longer than normal noodles, can be fried or boiled and served in a bowl with broth. There’s ‘good fortune fruit’ such as oranges and tangerines. As you can see there are many ways to enjoy a Meatless Monday during the Chinese New Year while encouraging luck and prosperity. Start your new year with these Meatless Monday recipes.
