    Miscellaneous

2.) Green Tip: Santa will thank you for saving energy this holiday season

Santa’s North Pole is melting, but you can help by taking a few simple steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. When you leave for the holidays: turn thermostats down to 55, close windows tight, and unplug chargers, printers and non-essential equipment. Get in the habit by switching everything off on a powerstrip. Always shut off computers and lights when vacating a room. Make a New Year’s resolution to carpool, bus or bike more and to trade that space heater for a sweater. Santa thanks you.

Additional Information: More tips for a greener holiday.

3.) UofL Compliance: When in doubt, point it out!

UofL is committed to conducting its affairs in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. When situations arise that may jeopardize the university’s honesty and integrity, employees are encouraged to report them. What is compliance? How do I report potential non-compliance? If you find yourself asking these questions, please read more. To request a live presentation about our compliance program, please contact the Institutional Compliance Office at icouofl@louisville.edu.

4.) Angel tree for animals: last call for donations

    Dec. 19, 4 p.m., deadline; Houchens LL008

Friday is the last call to help homeless animals this Christmas. Oftentimes animals are forgotten in the shelters and end up being put to sleep. By donating much needed items to area shelters, you could help save the life of an innocent animal. For a list of items needed and for drop off information, contact Julie Oechsli (Belknap, 852-1489) or Laura McKinney (HSC, 852-1304).

Floyd St. on Belknap Campus will be open for viewing and reserving surplus items for department use on Wednesday, December 17, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. We request that all items reserved be removed as soon as possible. The Surplus Warehouse will then close on December 18 to prepare for the next auction scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2015. The initial auction list is posted on the Surplus website.
