LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bob Koetter Jr., co-owner of The Koetter Group in Louisville, is the winner of the fifth annual Brown-Forman Family Business Leadership Award.

The University of Louisville’s Family Business Center presented the award to Koetter last week during its 2019 summit.

“He is the definition of a family business leader,” said Brittany Boone, interim director of the Family Business Center. “He’s been president of the company since 2004. He’s a husband and father. Yet he always makes time to give back to the community, including serving as the center’s board chair for the past two years and serving on the UofL Board of Overseers.”

The award recognizes an individual whose family business has multiple generations working in it and whose headquarters is in the greater Louisville-southern Indiana region. The winner is chosen on the basis of exemplary leadership, family unity and civic engagement in the family business community.

Koetter is co-owner of The Koetter Group with his four brothers. The company includes Koetter Construction, Koetter Real Estate Services and Koetter Building Services.

The Family Business Center is a business membership organization that is part of UofL’s College of Business. It represents many of the region’s strongest and most reputable family business leaders, providing a community where they can exchange strategies and experiences, safely explore challenging issues and learn from leading experts in areas unique to family businesses.
