UofL to host activities, events in support of ending violence against women

    LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville will participate in V-Day 2013, a global movement to end violence against women, with events and activities Feb. 11-16 including performances of “The Vagina Monologues,” an award-winning play by Eve Ensler.

    This year’s theme, “One Billion Rising,” draws attention to the 1 billion women globally who the United Nations says will be raped or beaten in their lifetimes. UofL’s events are part of V-Day’s goal to have 1 billion women and their supporters worldwide take a stand to end violence.

    V-Day events at UofL are organized by the Prevention, Education and Advocacy on Campus and in the Community (PEACC). Activities that are open to the public include:
