LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Joe Hockey, Australian ambassador to the United States, will speak at the University of Louisville Oct. 22 as part of the McConnell Center’s Distinguished Speaker Series. His free, public talk will consider “Foreign Policy in the Trump Administration.”

Hockey, former treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia and a longtime member of parliament, has served in Washington since January 2016 and is noted for developing strong working ties with senior figures in President Trump’s administration.

The discussion begins at 10 a.m. in the Swain Student Activities Center’s Floyd Theater. Doors open at 9:15 am. The event is free, but tickets must be requested online at McConnellCenter.org.

“Hosting international visitors is always an enriching experience for us, but to bring someone with the accomplishments and influence of Ambassador Hockey to our community is unique and very exciting for us all,” said McConnell Center Director Gary Gregg.
