Of those scholars, 850 planned to participate in the university’s Dec. 18 commencement at the KFC Yum! Center. UofL President James Ramsey presided at the 7 p.m. event and College of Arts and Sciences English and sociology major Branka Damjanovic of Louisville was the student speaker.
A 3 p.m. doctoral hooding ceremony, hosted by the School of Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies, preceded the main commencement ceremony.
