Over 1,000 University of Louisville students will graduate this semester and 850 plan to take part in the university’s Dec. 18 commencement at the KFC Yum! Center.

UofL President James Ramsey will preside at the 7 p.m. event and bioengineering student and Louisville native Louis Curtis will be the student speaker.

Honorary degrees will go to Ulysses “Junior” Bridgeman Jr., a 1975 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences and former Cardinal basketball player who played professionally after college, and his spouse Doris Bridgeman, a 1974 College of Business graduate.

A 3 p.m. doctoral hooding ceremony, hosted by the School of Interdisciplinary and Graduate Studies, will precede the main commencement ceremony.

Some free parking is available on surface streets near the center and paid parking is available in the center’s garage and other nearby garages.
