UofL will participate in the American Cancer Society’s fundraiser, Relay For Life, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., April 18 and 19 in the Student Activities Center Multipurpose Room. Relay For Life is an overnight community fundraiser focused on finding a cure for cancer.

The event will feature activities such as the Survivor Lap and luminaria ceremonies, a hypnotist performance, student booths, dance parties and some surprises. In addition, cancer survivors and those who died from cancer will be remembered during the all-night fundraiser through special dedication ceremonies.

All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s advocacy and research to eliminate cancer.

“Unfortunately, almost every person in this country has been touched by cancer in some way or another, but this is a small way for the University of Louisville to celebrate those who have overcome their disease, remember those who have been lost, and fight back against the disease that unites them all,” said Tressa Neal, American Cancer Society Relay For Life Specialist.

For more information about the event or to become involved, go to relay.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=58285, or contact Tressa Neal at 502-560-6042.
