The event will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. behind the Founders Union Building and will include free food, inflatable rides, activities and entertainment for people of all ages. The menu will include hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fruit, hummus, fresh vegetables and soft drinks. In many cases, the food is locally grown or produced by local vendors.

“We want to thank our faculty and staff for the commitment they’ve made to make UofL a premier metropolitan research university,” Ramsey said. “This picnic is one way we can say ‘Thank You’ not only to our employees, but also to their families for their support.”

To help with planning, event organizers are asking employees to register for the picnic here by Wednesday, Sept. 5. Several door prizes, including tickets to a UofL football game and men’s and women’s basketball games, will be given away through a drawing among everyone who registers for the event by Sept. 5.
