The celebration will feature marching band ensembles, music, inflatables, face painting, games and a beer garden. The theme, Year of the Cardinals, nods to the university’s 2013 athletic and academic accomplishments.
Key events for the bash are:
- Jumbotron showing a replay of the men’s 2013 NCAA Championship game, 10:30 a.m.
- Pep rally with athletic team representatives, UofL Marching Band, spirit squads and the Cardinal Bird, noon.
- Red-White men’s basketball scrimmage, 1 p.m.
Scrimmage tickets are $5 or $10 and can be purchased through the UofL Ticket Office, 502-852-5863, or through Ticketmaster online.
The homecoming football game will be Oct. 18, with the Cards competing against the University of Central Florida. The kickoff time is 8 p.m.
