The 22,000-square-foot GHN Wellness Center is free for UofL faculty and staff (spouses or qualifying adults pay just $10 a month).  It features state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment; fully refinished locker rooms; group fitness studios with 35+ free classes; a multi-use half-court; and an indoor walking track. Also available are wellness coaching and health and wellness classes that focus on losing weight, quitting smoking and managing stress. It is conveniently located near the Belknap campus and has plenty of free parking.

“Since we opened the wellness center in 2013, we have steadily increased our programming for the benefit of all UofL staff and faculty members,” said Patricia Benson, health management director. “We are always coming up with innovative classes that align to the interest and needs of employees, keeping in mind that good health and fitness resources should be fun and challenging to keep people coming back and engaged with the offerings.”

The center wants to pack the house Friday from 5:15 to 6 p.m. for a “Fitness Fiesta” featuring bootcamp, cardio, kickboxing, “Get Ripped,” Nia, Zumba and more. Show your support with #itsinyou and bring a friend! Then stay for Happy Hour at 6 p.m.

The Get Healthy Now Wellness Center at Humana Gym is open Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
