“Elect Her—Louisville Women Win,” a program that encourages college women to run for student government and political offices, will be held at the University of Louisville at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in Ekstrom Library, Chao Auditorium.
The event, sponsored by The UofL Women’s Center and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) at UofL, is free and open to the public. High school and college students are encouraged to participate. The training is free and a light meal will be provided.
During the workshop, featured speakers will discuss the need to expand the pipeline of women candidates and to diminish the longstanding political leadership gender gap. Participants will also learn skills including networking, developing an elevator speech and more.
Guest speakers will include Attica Scott, Kentucky State House of Representative; Jessica Kelly, AAUW’s Program Manager of Campus Leadership Programs; and Amanda Nitzken, University of Louisville Student Government Association Vice President.
Registration is open online. UofL students are required to register through OrgSync.
