Big Hero 6 Movie Night

Superheroes will take over at the University of Louisville Aug. 29 when the Cards Under the Stars summer movie series wraps up with double feature films “Big Hero 6” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn between the Natural Sciences Building and Grawemeyer Hall with children’s activities including:
  • children’s inflatables and games
  • meet and greet with superheroes
  • appearances by members of the Louisville League of Mascots

Concessions will be available for purchase from POLLO and Sweet ‘N’ Savory food trucks.

“Big Hero 6” begins at sunset and will be followed by “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

Families are encouraged to bring items such as lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers, snacks and drinks to make for a comfortable evening. Parking is available in the lot next to Grawemeyer Hall (2301 S. Third St.) and behind Ernst Hall (216 Eastern Parkway).

“Big Hero 6” is Disney Animation’s adaptation of the popular Marvel Comic series by the same name. In the film, a young robotics whiz named Hiro, his robot companion Baymax, and a group of tech-savvy friends challenge a criminal who is threatening the metropolis of San Fransokyo. The film is rated PG and is 102 minutes.

The second movie is an Avengers sequel that finds the iconic superhero team dealing with a threat of their own making: a robot called Ultron. The film is rated PG-13 and is 141 minutes.
