The UofL group will be one of 31 ensembles featured at the event. Trumpet professor Mike Tunnell, director of the group, also will perform solo.

To raise funds to help pay for student travel expenses to the conference, the ensemble will perform at a special concert April 20 at 8:30 p.m. in the Margaret Comstock Concert Hall, School of Music, Belknap Campus. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

The program will feature works by Tunnell and the ensemble will premiere work by faculty member Fred Speck and music student Joseph Meibers.
