    The University of Louisville is poised to become a premier center for 3D-based digital dental and medical care through the recent installation of several advanced technologies at the School of Dentistry, including a 3D Virtual Print Lab, a facial 3D photographic suite and a digital dentistry clinic (coming in the spring).

     

    FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES

    Carla Vidoni, associate professor and program director in CEHD’s Department of Health and Sport Sciences, will serve as a member of the Kentucky Division of Standards Advisory Board. The board proposes and recommends changes to the Kentucky K-12 physical education standards.

    President Postel hosting open forum on HSC campus today

    UofL Interim President Greg Postel will host an open forum on the HSC campus Thursday. During the forum, he will take employee input into the future direction of the university. The forum will be livestreamed at http://louisville.edu/medicine/tech/livestream.

     

     

    Worker Co-Operatives: Transforming Communities

    Monday, Oct. 16, noon, Brandeis School of Law, Room 275, free

    Professor Carmen Huertas-Noble is the founding director of the Community & Economic Development Clinic (CEDC) at CUNY School of Law and was involved with creating the well-known Manhattan restaurant COLORS. Huertas-Noble and Brandeis School of Law Professor Ariana Levinson will discuss COLORS and other worker co-op projects and explain the advantages of these groups, including economic benefits to members, engagement of workers and keeping money in the local community. Presented by the Brandeis School of Law Diversity Committee. A free, light lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m.

    Roundtable Conversation: Engaging Diverse Voices in Writing & Reading

    When issues of race, language, and culture are prominent in national conversations, the reading and writing students engage in presents opportunities, and sometimes challenges. Join us in the University Writing Center as faculty from several disciplines lead a conversation about how they approach such issues in assigning and responding to reading and writing in their courses.
