    DID YOU KNOW

    The 550 HIV Clinic at UofL is currently providing specialized healthcare to approximately 2,000 patients living with HIV-AIDS. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and pharmacists collaborate to provide comprehensive care to those patients through access to Ryan White Title III funding. In addition, education and care is provided to patients in correctional facilities using the Kentucky TeleHealth Network.

     

     

    FACULTY AND STAFF NOTABLES

    The Association for Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) South selected Matt Bergman, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation and Organizational Development, for the 2018 Outstanding Faculty Award. He was presented the award at ACHE South’s award luncheon in April, which was held in Austin, Texas.

    Summer Camps scheduled at Rauch Planetarium

    Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium; $180 UofL employees and students/$200 public/$150 family members
    Summer camps are filling up quickly, but we still have space available in the 5-6th grade and 7-9th grade camps. Campers actively engage in learning with hands-on experiments and projects as well as take flight in our virtual spaceship to explore the mysteries of the universe.

    Research study recruiting women who have not used hormonal contraceptives in the last three months

    Involves: one or two visits to the lab (2 hours total) and 30 minutes of home procedures. Eligibility: women with a regular menstrual cycle. Ineligibility: diagnosed with a psychological disorder, history of psychological or psychiatric treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding in the last three months, had a serious car accident, had a loved one in a serious car accident (potential serious injury or death).
