    The University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law in September is launching an online certificate program to help health care workers hone their legal finesse and professional credentials. The Certificate in Health Law is a series of nine courses offered by Brandeis in collaboration with iLaw.

    Dr. Kaila Story, an associate professor of women’s and gender studies at UofL, has been chosen as one of the 2017 NBC Out #Pride30 innovators, change makers and rising stars. In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, this inaugural list recognizes and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people who are “making the community proud.”

    NSF.gov, FastLane, Research.gov unavailable June 30 8 p.m. EDT until July 4 6 p.m. EDT

    NSF is moving its Data Center to the Foundation’s new headquarters on June 30 at 8 p.m. EDT through July 4 at 6 p.m. EDT to prepare for NSF staff relocation in August. NSF websites, FastLane, and Research.gov will be unavailable during that time. During this period there will be no access to these websites, proposals cannot be submitted in FastLane, and project reports and cash requests cannot be submitted in Research.gov. Previously saved information and uploaded documents in FastLane and Research.gov, including in-process proposals and reports, will be accessible after the Data Center move.

    Open Walls opening reception today

    June 14, noon to 2 p.m., lower level, Ekstrom Library
    Join us today for the opening reception of the seventh annual Open Walls Faculty/Staff Art Exhibit taking place from June 12-29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Photographic Archives Gallery, Archives and Special Collections, lower level of the Ekstrom Library. There are 31 artists this year exhibiting everything from quilts to wood sculptures, and oil paintings to photography.

    Announcing 2017-18 Faculty Learning Communities

    Faculty: Join a cohort of your peers from across UofL in a yearlong program that provides the opportunity for you to explore teaching innovation, assess impact on student learning, and publish or present scholarship about your work. Topics for 2017-18 include active learning, flipped classrooms and adaptive learning, innovation and creativity in teaching. The deadline to apply is Friday, August 25.

    Join UofL Professional Development and Instructor Rebecca Crump for a three-day intensive workshop that will help you develop the skills you need to create competitive grant applications, identify and build relationships with potential funders, and follow-through after your grant is funded. The workshop takes place from Tuesday, July 11 to Thursday, July 13 on Shelbyhurst Campus.

    Join Get Healthy Now for a 20-minute Pre/Postnatal workout. Participants will receive information on safe and effective exercises. This session will be hosted by our fitness professional who implemented these exercises during her own pregnancy. All soon-to-be and current parents welcome.

    Alicia Kelso is the director of social media and digital content. She joined UofL in 2015 as director of communications at the Brandeis School of Law.
