UofL employee up for Mrs. America crown; voting available online
Tyiana Thompson, a UofL employee, is competing in the Mrs. America pageant Aug. 26 in Las Vegas. Voting is now underway for delegates in this competition. Anyone who wishes to cast a vote for Thompson can do so through Aug. 21 online. The delegate with the most votes will automatically advance to the top 15 to compete in finals.
UofL Florence Nightingale Awards in Nursing
Do you know an outstanding nurse from Kentucky or Southern Indiana? Nominate registered nurses for the fourth-annual UofL Florence Nightingale Awards in Nursing. Nominations can be made online and the deadline is Sept. 7.

Sending secure university email – IT has new provider, process
Information Technology is expanding their use of ProofPoint to increase the security of the University’s email system. On Wednesday, August 16, IT will initiate ProofPoint’s Encryption Secure Send to replace the old Cisco secure email solution. Users should recognize ProofPoint as our anti-malware and spam/phishing filter but need to be aware of the new procedure for sending and receiving secure, encrypted emails. Please check the IT website for new information.
Junior Faculty: Seminar on Teaching for New Faculty applications due

This yearlong cohort program is designed to jump-start junior faculty members’ teaching careers by providing a rich foundation in evidence-based teaching strategies and research-based principles to foster student learning.
